Helping when you need it most
Dear Friends,
We at Hospice of Western Kentucky take pride in our tradition of caring, and in what we have accomplished in our rich 30-year heritage of responding to the needs of our community. Because of Hospice of Western Kentucky, nearly 600 families a year receive the very highest quality end-of-life care. Patients receive care based on our “Choice Care†care model, which focuses on the comfort, dignity, and personal choices of our patients and their families. Bereavement counseling is provided to both hospice and non-hospice families to help them work through their loss.
With all that we have done, one need is yet unsatisfied. That is the need to provide an additional resource for those most in need of comfort and care at the end of life; those with pain and symptoms that cannot be controlled in their home.
Our response to that need is to build a free-standing inpatient unit that will offer continuity of care and a quality physical environment for patients and families that is unattainable in institutional settings. In addition to being in a beautiful home-like facility, families will know that their loved ones are being cared for by Hospice of Western Kentucky’s staff, focusing on the same quality, values, and patient-centered goals and care that the patient experienced during home care.
We have purchased 10.8 acres at 2914 and 2916 Old Hartford Road in Owensboro. Your generosity and embracing of our vision will now be instrumental in helping us make this beautiful and much-needed facility a reality. Please help us achieve our goal of providing patients and their families a home away from home in a peaceful and serene setting.
Sincerely,
