Friends and co-workers gathered at Hospice on the evening of Nov. 17 to bid a fond farewell to our Medical Director, Dr. Neville B. Sarkari. Dr. Sarkari is leaving Owensboro to accept a new position with Covenant Hospice in Pensacola, Florida. Specializing in Palliative Care, Dr. Sarkari also served as Vice-Chief of Staff and Medical Director of Palliative Care at OMHS. Along with Hospice employees, OMHS physicians and staff attended the reception. Dr. Sarkari is pictured with Hospice board member Tollanet Payne who presented him with a gift of sorghum molasses made in Hancock County.
Thanksgiving Sharing
A bountiful table was set for Hospice’s employee potluck Thanksgiving meal on Nov. 15. Employees cooked extra so meals could be shared with Hospice patients. More than 60 meals were provided to 30 patients and caregivers. Volunteers helping deliver the meals included, from left, Julie Wilhite, Sandy Tooley, and Janie Kessinger.
